Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most famous and revered Ganesh idols in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The idol is installed during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, and it’s known for its grand size and the massive crowds it attracts. The celebration takes place in Lalbaug, a bustling area in Mumbai, and the pandal (temporary pavilion) where the idol is housed becomes a focal point of devotion and festivities.

Devotees from all over come to seek blessings from Lalbaugcha Raja, and the event is marked by vibrant processions, cultural programs, and various rituals. The journey to get a glimpse of the idol can involve long waits in queues, but for many, it's a deeply cherished tradition and an integral part of the festival.

Established in 1934, the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is situated in the Lalbaug, Parel locality of Mumbai. This Ganesh Mandal draws millions during its 10-day festival. Known as 'Navsacha Ganpati', the deity is believed to grant wishes. Annually, a 5 km long queue forms for darshan. On the final day, Lalbaug's Ganesh idol is immersed at Girgaon Chowpatty.

The Mandal was created during the height of the freedom struggle.

Lalbaugcha Raja gained fame initially through the local fishermen who established the Mandal. As many people's wishes were realized, the popularity surged. Its proximity to "Mumbai ka Raja" or "Ganesh Galli" Ganpati also contributed to its fame. Often, the queue for Ganesh Galli would extend to Lalbaugcha Raja, leading more people to visit.

The Mandal's renown grew as more wishes were fulfilled, attracting international visitors. Post-2001, media coverage amplified its fame, drawing celebrities, politicians, industrialists, and sports figures for darshan. It is believed that a sincere visit to Lalbaugcha Raja ensures wish fulfillment.
